According to Celtic lore, hazelnuts were full of knowledge

This week's card is Coll, or Hazel. According to Celtic lore, hazelnuts were full of knowledge. Hazel is a tree of attaining hidden knowledge, authority and justice. The card symbolizes truth and the ability to see things as they are, especially oneself. Looking at the way the hazelnuts form almost a heart shape and face each other in the image, I am reminded also of love. Knowing yourself is a step towards loving yourself. And if you can't love yourself, you can't love others. Likewise, if you are unwilling to see yourself as you are, you can't see others clearly either. The idea of separateness is just that, an idea. The truth is more complicated. Notice the ways you connect to others. How does this help or harm you? Do you pull people closer or push them away?
