This week's oracle card is Salmon. The Salmon is a symbol of wisdom, as it is reputed to be one of the oldest animals. It's also a symbol of virility for it's journeys upstream to mate. The card describes a person who seeks wisdom, and is relentless in their pursuit of it. A person who is not easily dissuaded from pursuing whatever they are after. This quality of persistence, of the ability to overcome all obstacles, is one that we have all needed at some point. Some of us draw on it more easily than others. I've often found myself wanting something, knowing what I needed to do to get it, and feeling overwhelmed at the work I'd need to do in order to attain it. (nine times out of ten, the work needed is something within myself, not an outside obstacle.) And I'd sit and think about how my life is now, and how it would be if I did the work necessary to attain my goal. This comparison, for me, is the salmon's strength. That knowledge that the other side of the obstacle will be better than what I have here is enough to push me to put the big girl pants on and get into it. What is your last push? How does this quality of the salmon manifest in your life?
