A continuation of yesterday's post, because I love poetry....and I love the inspiration shamanic journeys bring. :-)(Poems copyrighted 2016 by Catherine LaBella)
ST. ORAN SPEAKS
St. Oran speaks, but his words are eclipsed
By the strands of his rainbow hair
My nimble white fingers flicker
Like serpent tongues
Trying to get a tactile glimpse
Of his technicolor luscious glory
A LOVE POEM FOR THE ANIMUS
You place your chin gently on my shoulder
Your gaze is a challenge, a powerful stare
And I meet it by taking you in
A slow smile, kohl-rimmed eyes grow bolder
I resist the urge to start stroking your hair
Trailing my finger down dark bronze skin
A single black braid runs along your back
You smell like tomb dust, Nile water and desert sand
Like things I cannot find names for
Maybe I once did, when my mind was on track
With the memory of what we learned in that land
When I knew what you knew before
Your appearance still familiar, after three thousand years
I am fully enchanted with your faceI feel captivated, as if I am Narcissus
Falling instantly in love, discarding all fears
I hate myself for these feelings, so out of place
Knowing that I am whole as only on half of us
